Two Weeks

Luke is 2 weeks old! The two weeks since he was born have been SO much faster than the two weeks leading up to his arrival!

Hangin’ Out

Luke is full of the sweetest expressions that often end up as smiles!

Heart Glasses

Adley got pink heart glasses on a Valentine’s Day card from Grandma. She still likes to wear them (usually upside down) and put them on other people. A few nights ago she decided to put them on Luke, who didn’t even stir. I’m sure he has lots of dressing up with big sister in his future!

Coming Home

We had told Adley that baby brother would be coming home after her birthday. It was the only tangible date we could think of that she would understand was coming. Well, her birthday was the end of March, so the last 2 months leading up to his arrival, I’m pretty sure she thought the whole baby brother talk was all made up. She started looking for him out on our evening walks and would say, “Find him! Find baby brother!” When he finally came home and she got to meet him for the first time, she was so excited. She’s going to be a great big sister!

Luke Daniel

The day after I posted last, and mentioned that baby boy was currently 4 days overdue, he finally made his arrival into the world! Luke Daniel was born on May 27, 2020 at 5:05 am. After waking up around 3:15 am wondering if I was having contractions or just an unsettled stomach, I realized that the “unsettled” feeling was happening every 3 minutes. We quickly took off for the hospital, waited for a train, and were in our room by 4:20. Things moved along quickly and Luke made his appearance at 5:05 before the doctor even made it. We are so happy he’s finally here!

And now it's 2020!

Apparently I prefer to to post a few times every three years :) Life has certainly changed a lot since June of 2017!  I'll go into more detail later, but here are FIVE life updates from the last three years:

1. In March 2018 we welcomed our daughter, Adley, into the world!  Now she's two and has such a fun little personality.  We love her so much!

2. I went back to teaching part-time in the fall of 2018 and am SO thankful for the extra time I have at home!

3. Before finding out we were expecting in July 2017, we finished our last big home improvement project on the list (for now) by installing new baseboard trim throughout the entire house.  It was a big project but SO worth it!

4. Fall of 2019 we found out we were expecting baby #2-a BOY!  Sidenote: His due date was May 22, as in 4 days ago...😜

5. I finished my master's degree in curriculum and instruction!  I put off starting graduate classes for several years after I began teaching.  Finally, I signed up for classes in summer of 2016 and kept plugging along around coaching, teaching, and baby and am so excited to be DONE!

Looking back-June 2017

I thought it would be fun to look back each month at a few pictures that ended up on my phone, but don't need an entire post.  So, looking back...

We started June off with an evening by the fire pit roasting s'mores.  So yummy and such a fun way to relax together!

Kittens were born in our garage Mother's Day weekend.  Here they are about 4 weeks old.  So sweet and snuggly!

The perfect (flat) country road for a run.

Our church puts on an outreach event in the park called SPLASH.  So many sweet kiddos!

One of my childhood friends got married on a beautiful June evening.

Most of the time we're in shorts and t-shirts during the summer, so it's fun to have a reason to dress up!

One more.  Love him!

Evan drove an old car in our local summer parade.  He said it was called a Checker car, but I thought it looked more like a limo hearse.  hehe

After a busy week and weekend, I spent Sunday afternoon in the yard with these guys.

They love to play together!
